Deadly enemy: hilo curado

Another winter is coming to an end in the southern hemisphere, the winds start to blow with more force and most of the Chileans prepare to celebrate national holidays. Some small protagonists begin to appear in the sky, the ‘volantines’ (Chilean kites), and along with them the danger of the ‘hilo curado’ (abrasive string)

And so, a whole year had passed and another autumn begun to cool the days in Santiago. “Time flies when you’re having fun”, although it also seems to fly if you’re enclosed and each day is the same to each other, and what happened yesterday was really a couple of days ago.

COVID: an interlude

El otoño es mi estación favorita. Me encanta cuando—luego de un seco y caluroso verano en Santiago—comienzan a regresar los días nublados, las mañanas frías y las primeras lluvias. Durante el verano, al cruzarme frente a la TV, escuchaba sobre un nuevo coronavirus en China. Sería un duro cambio de estaciones este año.
